Position Summary: The Plant Operator is responsible for the direction of all day-to-day activities in a reciprocating engine landfill gas power generation facility. This position reports to the Area Manager and shares accountability of the day-to-day operations of the site. The goals of this position are to maximize production and minimize downtime with the utmost regard to safety, cleanliness, and environmental compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain large reciprocating gas engines (Caterpillar 3500 series gensets) and associated auxiliary equipment
  • Maintain detailed records on production data, equipment operational hours, and service schedules and equipment outages
  • Check all operating equipment daily including flow meters, gas chromatographs, fluid levels, pressure and temperature readings, and unusual noises to correct conditions before failure occurs
  • Perform all maintenance and repairs on the operating equipment including oil and filter changes, replacement of spark plugs, drive belts, hoses, valve adjustments, replacement of cylinder heads, piston cylinder liners and bearings, as necessary, and participate in preventative maintenance outages and overhauls
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness in and around the plant. Keep oil from accumulating on the unit skids, floors, and soil around the plant. Keep weeds and shrubs cleaned from the plant yard and perimeter fence. Keep equipment and floors looking as presentable as possible.
  • Keep all on-site parts and supplies stocked and well organized. Maintain plant inventory.
  • Respond to call outs in a timely manner. Identify and correct the cause of the call out. If the problem cannot be corrected or diagnosed, it is the responsibility of the operator to contact the supervisor to get the help required to fix the situation.
  • Operate the plant with a clear focus on safety. Clean up spills immediately. Make sure all lighting systems are fully functional; no slip or trip hazards are consistently present; and no electrical or mechanical hazards go for prolonged periods of time without attention. Affirm that all plant visitors, mechanics, and outside contractors are following safe work practices.
  • Works with internal resources to resolve problems.
  • Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, regulatory compliance, and safety requirements.
  • Clearly communicate all material/personnel issues with the area managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diesel/large reciprocating engines operation and maintenance experience required.
  • Must possess good mechanical skills.
  • Basic electrical knowledge preferred.
  • General troubleshooting abilities.
  • Skilled in recordkeeping and logging.
  • Must be able to read and write well.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Must be self-motivated and perform most tasks with little or no supervision.
  • Working knowledge of pressure, vacuum, and flow.
  • Experience with pumps, blowers, or air compressors.
  • Experience in welding helpful. Must have a current and valid driver’s license, without any restrictions.

Work Hours:

• Monday – Friday; 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• On call every other week, Monday to Monday 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.; overtime; weekend availability.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform equipment assembly according to engineering drawings
  • Conduit, tube, and pipe bending / threading per print
  • Uses common hand tools, pneumatic tools, electric power tools and fork trucks
  • Use of electric powered benders, riveters, drill press and chop saws
  • Maintains accurate records regarding work performed at each stage of production
  • Works closely with other technicians to ensure quality control throughout the manufacturing process
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms

Position Summary: Reporting to the Vice President, RNG Operations, the Business Manager, RNG – Central Valley, CA is a commercial manager responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance, commercial and relationship management with the host and satellite manure farms.
The Business Manager is responsible for ensuring that pre-commissioning activities and operations of Central Valley RNG are being managed in a prudent and best practices manner. The Business Manager will prepare a report and meet monthly with Senior Leadership to review operations. The Business Manager will be the main point of contact on any commercial arrangements as well as the main point of contact on expense management to the approved budget.
Central Valley is two separate host farms (located in Oakdale/Escalon area of Central Valley) with multiple satellite farms for each. Manure is collected at the host and satellite farms, converted into biogas in digesters, and processed into Renewable Natural Gas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining relationships and commercial arrangements with all satellite and host farms to ensure an adequate supply of manure is always maintained
  • Will be the OPAL Fuels main point of contact and relationship manager with Host Farms, Satellite Farms, Virtual Pipeline Operator, and Injection Point
  • Responsible for producing a budget that is in line with the long term proforma model and produces expected returns and cash flows to Owner
  • Responsible for oversight of O&M of Digesters, Satellite Farm Manure supply systems, RNG Upgraders, Virtual Pipeline and microgrid
  • Responsible for transparency in data and expenses of the operations
  • Ensuring all conditions of financing (if any) are properly met
  • Oversee construction and project management from current construction phase through the completion and settlement of all construction contracts

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ten+ years of Commercial and Operational Dairy Farm Management experience
  •  Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business (preferred; not required)
  • Logistically, must live within a 90-minute commute of both host farms located approximately 30 miles east of Modesto and Stockton, and 60 miles south of Sacramento, CA

Work Hours: Monday – Friday; standard business hours

Salary: $145K – $170K, plus 15% bonus

Position Summary: The O&M Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and instrument components, using test equipment to locate and correct the problems. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance on various operating CNG compressor equipment, including, but not limited to, compressors, dryers, pumps, valves, meters, rotating equipment, and various other equipment.
  • Visually inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Diagnose and test electrical systems for continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as digital volt/ohm meters.
  • Perform daily walk around inspections to identify any potential risks or fatigue of equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and instrument components, utilizing equipment manuals, test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a failure and make necessary repairs.
  • Ensures that all station equipment, including safety devices, are functioning properly, and reports any equipment failures to the supervisor.
  • Document service actions daily by completing forms, reports, and logs.
  • Ensures good housekeeping practices of all equipment, tools, work areas and fueling station.
  • Service existing accounts by routinely calling on customers, receiving calls from customers, and routine site visits.
  • Ensures that all vendors accessing fueling stations follow all company policies and procedures.
  • 24-hour on-call status required.
  • Respond to emergency calls and preventative maintenance calls in an organized manner.
  • Responsible for booking all travel and tracking all expenses.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Three to five years of industrial, automotive or HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
  • One to three years of CNG experience preferred.
  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read basic diagrams and schematics.
  • Coursework in industrial mechanics and/or electricity preferred.
  • Good communication skills; written and verbal for reporting purposes; attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office products required.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

Work Hours: 

  • Standard Monday – Friday; 1st shift (40-hours); hours may fluctuate, based upon customer demand.
  • 24 hours/on-call required.

Position Summary:

A Construction Superintendent oversees the operations of a construction site, from planning to completion. The duties of a construction superintendent will vary day-to-day; however, they can expect to be responsible for daily scheduling, supervising all activities and tasks, and ensuring the safety and compliance of the site. These positions are for our rapidly expanding CNG/RNG business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review project drawings for constructability and material take-off.
  • Material ordering on JIT basis for anticipated permits.
  • Create project schedule and budget.
  • Solicit and review vendor and sub-contractor quotes for approval of purchase orders.
  • Customer contact, introduction, communication of overall project schedule and daily/weekly activities.
  • Hands on installation of stainless-steel tubing and carbon steel pipe systems.
  • Operate forklift, scissor lift, petty-bone and the like of medium duty equipment.
  • OSHA 30-hour class maintenance and daily/weekly safety meetings.

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Foreman or Superintendent in a similar field.
  • Minimum of eight years as a trade worker (civil, mechanical, or electrical).
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and workflow simultaneously.
  • OSHA Standards expertise.
  • Budget Management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact and communicate with coworkers of all levels.
  • Must be proactive, organized, and proficient in supervising and motivating teams.
  • Travel is 75%.

Job Summary:

As a Field Install Technician, you can expect to be on the road at outdoor construction sites, assisting the Superintendent in building Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Fueling Stations. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up the job site and container.
  • Reading plans.
  • Building racks for gas piping and tubing.
  • Supporting welders.
  • Install stainless steel tubing systems.
  • Conduct pressure tests.
  • Manage miscellaneous tasks related to concrete work.
  • Forklift and man lift operation.
  • Following and enforcing safety protocols.
  • OSHA 30-hour class and monthly safety classes.
  • ROAD WARRIOR (you will have two weekends per month at home).
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Minimum three years of experience in a construction field or similar work environment.
  • HS Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Demonstrated hands on, general construction skills.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift 60lbs.
  • Experience with power tools and calculating measurements.
  • Forklift and man lift experience.
  • Wide range construction technology knowledge and materials, preferred.
  • Ability to handle all travel plans.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
